Aurelian (270-275) Antoninian, Siscia - Shield with Gorgoneion - ex. Philippe Gysen

Spectacular, extremely rare and desirable one die bust type with shield decorated with Gorgoneion (only one obverse die of this type is recorded).

Lack of original silvering, minor corrosion, all in all pleasant example.

Bust left, radiate, heroically nude with cross-belt, seen from rear, holding spear pointing forward in right hand, shield on left shoulder.

Reverse: CONCORDIA MILITVM / [*T]

Emperor togate standing right, clasping the hand of Concordia standing left.

Bardzo rzadki i poszukiwany heroiczny typ popiersia z tarczą udekorowaną głową Gorgony (tylko jeden stempel awersu tego typu jest notowany).

Brak oryginalnego srebrzenia, lekka korozja, ale przyjemny w odbiorze egzemplarz.
