Probus (276-282) Antoninian, Lugdunum - Military bust

Military bust of the finest style, with a beautiful decorated shield, spear, pseudo attic helmet and balteus across the cuirass. One of the finest known examples of this particular type! All military busts from Lugdunum struck only during the 5th emmission celebrating Probus' return through Lugdunum after his battles in Gaul, including this spectacular bust, are rare and very sought-after by collectors.

Radiate, cuirassed and helmeted (pseudo attic helmet) bust left, holding spear and shield decorated with emperor on horse.

Reverse: TEMPOR FELICI / I

Felicitas standing right, holding caduceus and cornucopiae.
