Louis XV gold Louis d'Or Mirliton 1724-S AU55 NGC, Reims mint, KM470.18, Gad-339 (R2), Dup-1638. Large palms variety. A generally scarce issue, and only the second example of this mint-date combination we have offered. For comparison, the Donald Partrick specimen, an AU58, brought $2,760 in March 2021. Though we have no supporting documentation, based on the encrustations around the legends, it seems likely that this piece was recovered from the La Chameau shipwreck.
