Cornwall 2. County. Copper halfpenny. 12.84 gm. 29 mm. 1791. A druid head left within an oak wreath / Shield of arms, a coronet above; CORNISH COPPER HALF AN OUNCE 1791 around. Plain edge, struck in collar. Uncirculated; bronzed, prooflike. The heavy weight reflects the effort of the Cornish makers to produce a piece with a solid and acceptable value based on the copper weight. A look at weights on most pieces in the series shows that this standard was not widely adopted.
