From an American collection formed in the 1950s of different mints issuing tetradrachms in the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. This continues the offering begun in Auction 40 (March 2021) with two rare, magnificent tetradrachms from the Memphis Mint (lots 32f), and will be continued in succeeding auctions. The collector bought high quality coins in 1950 mostly from Spink & Son in London, Numismatic Fine Arts (Edward Gans) in New York, and Earle Stanton in Los Angeles.
