ROMAN IMPERIAL. Jovian. A.D. 363-364. AV solidus. 4.38 gm. 21.5 mm. Constantinople mint. His rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right; D N IOVIANVS P F PERP AVG / Roma, helmeted, enthroned right facing Constantinopolis, turreted and with foot on prow, enthroned left, supporting between them shield inscribed VOT | V | MVL | X in four lines; SECVRITA-S REI PVBLICAE around, CONSP in exergue. RIC VIII 169. Very Fine; pleasing coin, well centered on a full flan; a few minor lines on obverse–not scratches, appear to have been in flan before striking (double struck?); two tiny graffiti on reverse–small mark between figure's knees, small X at start of legend in exergue.
