THESSALY. Pharsalos. Late 5th-mid 4th century B.C. AR drachm. 5.91 gm. 19 mm. Signed by Telephantos and Ip.... Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with eagle wing and coiled serpent; T/I-Π in tiny letters behind neck / Thessalian cavalryman riding horse prancing left, wearing petasos, chlamys, and chiton, holding lagobolon over his right shoulder; Φ A P Σ around, T in exergue. Lavva 109 (V52/R61). BCD Thessaly I 1287 (same obverse die). BCD Thessaly II 641 (same dies). HGC 4, 625. Near Extremely Fine; light attractive toning with some iridescence; light porosity; small reverse die break. Fine style.
