Roman Republic, Q. Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio, Cistophoric Tetradrachm - VERY RARE

Very rare cystophoric tetradrachm of Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio, Pompey father in law, who married his daughter Cornelia Metella. At Pharsalus he commanded Pompey army, after the defeat, he fled to Africa and again took command of Pompey troops. He committed suicide in 46 BC, following another defeat, this time at Thapsus.

Bardzo rzadka tetradrachma cystoforyczna Caeciliusa Metellusa Piusa Scipio, teścia Pompejusza, który poślubił jego córkę Kornelię Metellę. Pod Farsalos dowodził wojskami Pompejusza, po klęsce uciekł do Afryki i ponownie objął dowództwo nad oddziałami Pompejusza. Popełnił samobójstwo w 46 roku pne, po kolejnej klęsce, tym razem pod Tapsus.
