cf. Numista #56256. By S. Santucci. Diameter: 64mm; Weight: 218.87 gms. Commemorating the city on the southern coast of France. Obverse: Aerial veduta of the city from a vantage point in the Mediterranean Sea; VILLE DE FRONTIGNAN on banner curling around the lower side; Reverse: Four putti bearing bunches of grapes and grape vines; civic coat-of-arms to left. Edge: Plain. Light brown surfaces, with some alluring brilliance remaining.

Frontignan is widely known for its Muscat de Frontignan, a sweet wine made solely from the Muscat grape variety and with an appellation controlled for this specific area.
