GREAT BRITAIN. George IV Coronation/Buckingham Yeomanry Silver Medal, 1821. VERY FINE Details. Rim Bruises.
Eimer-1146b. By E. Avern after B. Pistrucci. Diameter: 35mm; Weight: 21.60 gms. Engraved and awarded to William Geere, 1st Reg't BYCH. Obverse: Laureate head left; Reverse: George seated left on throne, being crowned by Victory to right; to left, Britannia, Hibernia, and Scotia standing right. Edge: Wm GEERE 1st REGt B.Y.C.H. Holed at the top as issued, with loop and blue ribbon attached. A few rim bruises are noted. This type, an imitation of the official coronation medal, with issued for members of the first regiment of Bucks Yeomanry Cavalry who attended the coronation and marched. Quite RARE and an interesting addition to the topic of coronation medals.
