MEXICO. Mint Error -- Struck on 10 Pesos Center Core -- 20 Pesos, "2019" (2021)-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-66.
Centennial of Emilio Zapata Salazar's death commemorative (dated 2019, minted 2021). Without an outer aluminum-bronze ring, the small center core of a 10 Pesos planchet somehow migrated into a 20 Pesos striking chamber to form this dramatic, undersized piece. Devices are slightly soft, but ample detail is still offered considering the circumstances of the lighter strike. An attractive, flashy Premium Gem error that will draw the eyes of many a collector.
