MEXICO. Mint Error -- Struck With the Center Core of a 10 Pesos -- 20 Pesos, "2019" (2021)-Mo. PCGS MS-64.
KM-Unlisted (struck over cf. KM-616). Centennial of Emilio Zapata Salazar's death commemorative (dated 2019, minted 2021) struck using the center core of an already struck 10 Pesos whose date cannot be identified. An intriguing double denomination that combines the copper-nickel center from one coin and the aluminum-bronze outer ring of another. The probable result of mint sport, it is possible to imagine a dubious employee removing the center of one issue and inserting it into the 20 Pesos striking chamber, surrounded by a fresh planchet ring. Peculiar, intriguing, and dramatic, the present coin would be an excellent acquisition for Mexican error specialists.
