KM-2. This interesting piece is a survivor, originally produced by the Melbourne mint to fulfill an order from New Guinea, the entire mintage was returned to the mint for destruction. The Melbourne mint made 400 2 piece sets containing this Penny and a 1/2 Penny available to the public and destroyed the balance. This act makes all examples of this type EXCEPTIONALLY RARE, and a must have for any collector of British colonial types.
