HGC-4, 1597; Kroll-8. Possible Near East or Egyptian contemporary imitation. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. This pleasing argent example offers a strong strike and an overall attractive look. Some light graffito is noted on the reverse, and as NGC notes there is a possibility that this example is an ancient Eastern imitation of the popular trade type.
