S-1795. Obverse: Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; Reverse: Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing loros, and Constantine, draped, holding between them a patriarchal cross. Though struck on a wavy flan that has evidence of being removed from a mount, this charming Byzantine gold issue engages the senses with a vibrant sunny color and a strong and beautiful strike that renders the details with exceptional strength and clarity.
