Corporation of London - New Council Chamber, Guildhall London 1884 77mm diameter in bronze Obverse: A detailed interior view of the Council Chamber, flanked by two heraldic panels, THE NEW COUNCIL CHAMBER. GUILDHALL OF LONDON. OPENED 2ND OCTOBER 1884. In Exergue: The City of London shield. Reverse: Londinia standing before the Civic Chair, attended, right, by Mercury and Commerce addressing her Council, standing and seated before her. In Exergue: City Sword and Mace entwined by a ribbon bearing the city motto. Eimer 1705, BHM 3177 Bright GEF, comes in a different Corporation of London box, The box lid states - Presented to the Burgomasters and Aldermen of Belgium to commemorate their visit to the City of London 14th May 1888 --- The Right Hon. Polydore de Keyser, Lord Mayor, Sheriffs: Major Horatio David Davies, William Alpheus Higgs Esq.. The medal which was intended for this box was commissioned but never issued, so the box extremely rare and sought after by collectors of this series
