Sweden, Karl XV MIS 3 1 carolin (10 francs) 1871 Minor scratches and small handling marks on obverse. SM 12a. SG 27. The ordinance concerning a new coin of 10 franc equivalent was given at Stockholm Castle on 31 July 1868. The Parliament had already in February the same year the King's proposition that ducats should hereafter be coined in (free translation): "two different coins, one of the gold value and weight, that carefully equated that of Belgium, France, Italy and Switzerland through the coin convention ... assumed ten francs piece, and one of that gold value and that weight, which, by the regulations of the same convention, carefully corresponding to 25 francs ..." We can see that the minting of 25 francs coinage never happened in Sweden! 01
