KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 4.30 g, 11 h), Mylasa or Bargylia, circa 300-280. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated to left on a backless throne, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, Artemis Phosphoros standing facing, holding two torches. Price 2493. Very fine.
