Solidus (Gold, 19.5 mm, 4.40 g, 7 h), Constantinople, 871-886. +IhS XPS REX REႺ NANTIႷM✳ Christ, nimbate, seated facing on throne, raising right hand in benediction and, with his left hand, holding book of Gospels on his left knee. Rev. bASILIOS ET CONhSTAhT' AUGG'b' Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing loros, and Constantine, wearing chlamys, holding patriarchal cross between them. DOC 2c. SB 1704. Scrape on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
