TABARISTAN. 'Abbasid governors. AH 170-193 / AD 786-809. Hemidrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 1.55 g, 12 h), under the governor Abdallāh b. Arif, PYE 131 / AH 166 (= AD 782). GDH 'pzwz (may his splendor increase) 'bdallh (Governor's name) to the left; on the margins: 'pd (excellent) to right and nywk' (good) to left. Sasanian-style bust to right, wearing winged crown; stars flanking crown and breast ornament decorated with heart and a pellet in each side. Rev. Date on the left - Tpwlst'n (Tabaristan) on the left field Sasanian-style fire altar flanked by two attendants; pellet and pellet flanking flames. Album 70. Malek 127.1. Good extremely fine.
