ISLAMIC, Ayyubids. Mayyafariqin & Jabal Sinjar. al-Awhad Najm al-Din Ayyub, AH 596-607 / AD 1200-1210. Dirham (Bronze, 26 mm, 9.92 g, 7 h), as governor, Sultan AH 596-615 / 1199-1218, Mayyafariqin (= Diyarbakır), AH 601 = AD 1204/1205. Arabic marginal inscription, with date formula on either side of the bust Draped facing bust, wearing a Byzantine-style crown. Rev. Central inscription of six lines with further inscription in the left, right and upper margins. Album 828. Balog, Ayyubids 843. Good very fine.
