QING: Shun Zhi, 1644-1661, AE cash (3.51g), Board of Revenue mint, H-22.11, cast 1644-45, one dot tong type, plain reverse, VF, ex Howard D. Gibbs Collection. H. D. Gibbs' collections of world copper coins, siege pieces, thalers and counterstamped coins were sold at sales in the USA and Switzerland before his death. His collections of curious and primitive currencies were sold in the USA (1970-71) and in London (1979).The Shunzhi Emperor created the Ministry of Revenue and the Ministry of Public Works in Beijing to oversee the casting of bronze cash coins. One dot Tong types can be attributed to the Board of Revenue mint and types with two dot Tong to the Board of Works mint.
