Theodosius II. AD 402-450. Solidus (Gold, 22mm, 4.27 g 12), Constantinople, 420-422. D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG Helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing, turned slightly to the right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield ornamented with a cavalryman spearing a fallen foe over his left shoulder. Rev. VOT XX MVLT XXX / CONOB Victory standing left, holding long jeweled cross. Depeyrot 74/2. RIC 219. A very attractive example. A few very minor flan faults, otherwise, good extremely fine.
