Metapontum. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20mm, 7.94 g 9). Bearded head of Leukippos to right, wearing Corinthian helmet; behind, lion's head right. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Barley ear with leaf to left; above leaf, vertical club with head below; below leaf, ΑΜΙ. HN III 1575. Johnston B 2. SNG ANS 434 (same dies). Lightly toned, sharp and attractive. Minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
