Metapontum. Circa 290-280 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21mm, 7.92 g 2). Diademed head of bearded Herakles to right, club behind his neck. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to right; to right, cup. HN III 1621. Johnston D4.2. Kraay/Hirmer 248. Very attractive, well-struck and nicely toned; with an elegant head of Herakles. Good extremely fine.
