Philip II. 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 16mm, 8.63 g 11), Pella, struck under Philip III, c. 323-317/5 BC. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer driving chariot drawn by two rearing horses to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, trident head to right and monogram. Le Rider 579. Clear and attractive, but struck from a slightly worn die. Extremely fine.
