Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16mm, 4.24 g 1), Magnesia ad Maeandrum, struck under Philip III, 323-317. Head of Herakles wearing lionskin headdress to right. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, thysos. Price 1945. An attractive example. Extremely fine.
