Early Anglo-Saxon period, Continental issues (c.695-740), Sceat, Series E. 'Vico' type variety, degenerate 'porcupine' head right enclosing three bars. Rev, degraded 'standard' with letters, 0.96g (S.790A; N.45). A well centred sharply struck example on a fully rounded flan, containing all the main lines and elaborate details. Very impressive, about extremely fine.
