Richard II (1377-1399), Noble, Calais mint, 'Porcine Style', king standing in ship with sword and shield, flag at stern, no French title, rev initial mark cross pattee, R at centre of cross, surrounded by lions lis and crowns within tressure of eight arcs, 7.7g (N1306; S1661). An excellent and well struck example with consistent details on both sides. Retaining much of its original mint brilliance and lustre. Extremely fine, rare as a type and equally rare so well preserved.
