Henry VIII (1509-47), Testoon with a nominal value of twelve Pence, Tower Mint, third coinage (1544-47), full facing crowned bust of King in ruff, beaded borders and inner linear circles both sides, trefoil stops, initial mintmark undecipherable, legend surrounds in Lombardic script, HENRIC 8 DG AGL FRA Z HIB REX. Rev, crowned Tudor rose, crowned h and crowned R flanking, mintmark pellet in annulet, reads POSVI; DEVM; ADIVTORIVM; MEVM, 7.78g (S.2365; N.1841). Struck on a fully rounded flan with a complete portrait and ruff, legends in the main clear, uneven dark surfaces both sides. Good very fine, rare.
