Rev, English and Irish shields conjoined, seven strings to Irish shield, value II.VI above all within beaded circle, date at top, legend surrounding GOD WITH VS, toothed borders both sides, 14.92g (S.3215; N.2722; Bull.24 R; ESC.429). Darkly toned around the periphery with clear fields and set out on a broad flan, the cross hatching on the English shield pleasing. Rev, attractive mottled tone, the shields struck with precision, small original collectors number '70' inked beneath the conjoined shields. Extremely fine, a complete example, rare.
