Henry III (1216-72), Penny, long cross coinage, Canterbury mint, class Vc, crowned facing bust within linear circle, sceptre at left, legend starts at 10 o'clock HENRICVS REX III. Rev, voided long cross, three pellets in angles, reads ROBERT ON CANT, the A and N ligatured in mint signature, 1.27g (S.1369; N.993; cf. Mass 1676-77). Light subtle cabinet tone, obverse scrape, portrait well struck with clear legends. Very fine.
