Charles I (1625-49), Halfcrown, Tower Mint under Parliament, group 3a3, King on horseback left with scarf flying from shoulder, sword upright, no ground, mintmark ® (1644-45), legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HIB REX. Rev, oval scroll garnished shield of arms, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, 15.39g (S.2778; N.2213; Brooker 357-58). A proficiently struck example from well prepared dies, good detail with legible legends, nicely toned. Some of the usual obverse annealing flaws, double struck in the reverse mintmark. Very fine.
