Charles I (1625-49), Halfcrown, Tower Mint under Parliament, group 3a3, cruder workmanship, King on horseback left with scarf flying from shoulder, sword upright, no ground, mintmark sun (1645-46), legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HIB REX. Rev, oval scroll garnished shield of arms, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, 14.48g (S.2778; N.2213; Brooker 362-63). Light grey old cabinet tone, legible legends both sides with an excellent impression of the King on horseback, small weak spot in the hindquarters of the horse from the initial strike. Very fine or better for the issue. Fetching.
