Charles I (1625-49), Shilling, Tower Mint, Group D, fourth bust type 3a, no inner circles, double arched crown left, value in field behind, mintmark tun, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MA BR FR ET HI REX. Rev, oval shield garnished quartered shield of arms in frame, no CR either side, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO 5.54g (S.2791; N.2225; Sharp E2/2; Brooker 507). Weak in the bust, legends clear, toned. Near fine.
