Charles I (1625-49), Shilling, Tower Mint, Group E, fifth bust, type 4.1 variety, inner beaded circles, single arched crown left, larger bust with rounded shoulder, larger mark of value in field behind, mintmark triangle over anchor on obverse, flukes to the right, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MA BR FR ET HI REX. Rev, square topped coat of arms over long cross fourchee, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, 5.93g (S.2797; N.2230; Sharp F5/; Brooker 530-31). Fine for issue, toned on good metal.
