Charles I (1625-49), Shilling, Tower Mint, Group F, 'Briot' large bust left with stellate lace collar, double arched crown, type 4.4, inner circles, value in field behind, mintmark star, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HI REX. Rev, square topped quartered shield of arms over cross moline, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO 6.08g (S.2799; N.2231; Sharp G1/2; Brooker 548). Toned, legible legends and an adequate portrait, obverse encrustations between 3 and 4 o'clock. Good fine with the associated surface markings for the grade.
