Charles I (1625-49), Sixpence, 1625, Tower mint, Group A, type 1, mintmark lis, first bust left with double arched jewelled crown, value behind, reads CAROLVS DG MAG BR FR ET HI. Rev, square topped shield over long cross fourchée, legend surrounds CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, date above, 2.89g (S.2805; N.2235; Brooker 574). Light cabinet toning, few surface marks, legends quickly legible, some of the letter puncheons showing wear. Good very fine, scarce with a good pedigree.
