Charles I (1625-49), Sixpence, Nicholas Briot's second Milled Issue (1638-39), mintmark anchor and mullet/ anchor, crowned bust left in stellate lace collar, mark of value behind, lozenge stops, beaded inner circles, legend surrounding CAROLVS DG MAG BRIT FR ET HIB REX. Rev, quartered shield of arms over long cross fourchee, reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, 2.93g (S.2860; N.2306; Brooker 730). Toned on a full flan, some flan reduction marks on the reverse (known for the type) clear fields and a pleasing portrait. Very fine.
