Anne (1702-14), Shilling, 1705, second draped bust facing left, ‘Roses and Plumes’ toothed border both
sides, legend surrounds ANNA DEI GRATIA. Rev, pre-union crowned cruciform shields, garter star
at centre, six strings to Irish harp, date either side of top crown, roses and plumes in alternate angles,
legend reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REG. (S.3589; Bull.1393; ESC.1136). Pleasing olive blue toning with
hues of purple, marginally off centre with a comprehensive portrait, shields and legends. Bold Good very fine,
much eye appeal.
