SCANDINAVIA. Anglo-Danish. Bronze stirrup mount. 9th-10th centuries AD. (5.6 mm). With two piercings at finial and the back of the mount. On the large face of the mount, a wolf announces the coming of Ragnarök. Dark gray and brown patina, minor roughness, traces of earthen deposits, a couple of scrapes on the reverse.
