MS64 | Victoria (1837-1901), gold Two Pounds, 1887, Jubilee type crowned bust left, eye has vertical die flaw, J.E.B. initials on truncation, legend surrounding with a few stops doubled, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, shorter date in exergue, small B.P to upper right of exergue, 15.97g (Dyer 2b/2; Marsh T25; cf. Schneider 654; DISH C206; S.3865). Toned, extremely fine, graded by NGC as MS64.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God," on obverse and as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith" on the reverse.
The 1887 gold Two Pounds was only the second currency piece ever produced, with the previous being that dated 1823 in the reign of George IV; and was minted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Victoria's reign.
