AU58 | George II (1727-60), silver Halfcrown, 1741, 41 of date struck over 39, young laureate and draped bust left, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS. II. DEI. GRATIA. rev. crowned cruciform shields, roses in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, M.B.FE. ET. H. REX. F.D. B.ET. L. D. S. R. I. A. T ET. E. edge inscribed in raised letter and dated, DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. DECIMO. QVARTO (Bull 1682; ESC 601A; S.3693). A couple of slight rim imperfections, toned with a few tiny spots, graded by NGC as AU58.

We note as of October 2021 that a total of 25 pieces have been graded across both services of which only eleven are finer.
The Latin legends translate to on obverse "George II by the Grace of God" continuing on the reverse in abbreviated Latin which if shown in full reads "Magnae Britanniae Franciae et Hiberniae Rex Fidei Defensor Brun et Lunebergen-sis Dux, Sacri Romani Imperii Archi-Thesaurius et Elector" and translates as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire."
The roses on reverse indicates this coin is struck from silver derived from English mines and sources.
