Charles II Posthumous gold Cob 2 Escudos 1709-ARC MS63 NGC, Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino mint, KM14.2, Cal-1927 (under Philip V), Oro Macuquino-231 (under Charles III), Restrepo-M66.40. 6.76gm. Struck during the reign of Philip V. A very challenging state in which to locate any dated Cob of this period, with those parts of the strike that did find their mark exhibiting good luster and die polish. Struck on a much broader flan than the Lasser specimen, and among the nicest we have seen.
