Philip V gold Cob 2 Escudos 1732/1 F-S AU50 NGC, Santa Fe de Nuevo Reino mint, cf. KM17.2 (Rare; overdate unlisted), Cal-1948 (same), Restrepo-M80.8 (same), Oro Macuquino-292b (this coin). 6.70gm. José Sánchez as assayer. A scarce "transitional" date between the tenures of José Sánchez and Miguel Molano, with this piece clearly belonging to the former thanks to a full S initial just on the edge of the flan. Notably missing from Lasser, it is hardly an exaggeration to say that any Cob of this period with a full mintmark, assayer's initial, and a virtually full date is typically a far-cry, let alone a largely unrecorded overdate such as this. A clear target for the specialist, and long off the market.
