Central American Republic gold Contemporary Counterfeit 1/2 Escudo 1826 CR-F AU, cf. KM5 (for original type). 15mm. 1.33gm. A lovely example of a well-done piece meant to pass in circulation, bearing a date not listed in the series. Very sharp to the devices, with the depiction of a smiling sun bathed in a red-gold patina.
