Charles & Johanna "Late Series" 1/2 Real ND (1554-1556) O-O VF35 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM0006.5, Cal-56, Nesmith-107m. 1.57gm. Variety without mintmark. A very rare rare variety for this already scarcer series denomination, identifiable by the pellets about the P-L-S, and the absence of the mintmark from the reverse; indeed, Nesmith only recorded having studied 3 examples in 1977. Our research has only turned up 3 other representatives in records of the last two decades, with the Rudman specimen certifying as a VF25 by comparison. This selection, however, exhibits much better centering, with full legends over both sides.
