Philip III Cob 4 Reales 1621/0 Mo-D VF Details (Saltwater Damage) NGC, Mexico City mint, cf. KM37.2 (overdate unlisted), Cal-764, Cay-4832 (overdate unlisted). 13.21gm. A highly elusive piece from the final year of Philip III's reign, and only the second such example we have been able to locate at auction in recent years (cf. Jesus Vico Auction 141, March 2015, Lot 236). Though the present offering is minted from different dies than the other specimen, it shows a similar o over larger O in the mintmark. Likely a shipwreck coin.
