Saint Vincent
British Colony Counterstamped 6 Bitts ND (1811-1814) XF Details (Obverse Rim Filed) NGC, KM10, Prid-12, Wood, "The Coinage of the West Indies and the Sou Marqué," pg. 17, Fig. 67, ANS-1934.1.491. 9.03gm. Displaying S VI countermark (XF Standard) on the inner plug of a Charles IV Spanish Colonial 8 Reales. A type which almost universally comes in poor preservation--as clearly indicated by the low quality of the two examples in the Gordon Collection, while the ex. Roehrs piece only certified VG08 by PCGS. Notable for its absence from the holdings of Ford, this piece represents only the second we have ever offered, and one of fewer than five to have crossed the auction block in recent years.
