The Sarah, Duchess of York piece an excellent likeness and a sad reminder of a coin that never was. This lot is sold with the unmounted studio portrait of the Duchess, from which this plaster was made. Devlin was also commissioned by Wedgwood to make a plaster portrait of Princess Diana (SD p. 497).
All five plasters in this lot are © Stuart Devlin Estate, they are marked as such to the reverse.
